Look down at the smooth, mirror‑like lake and you’ll see a tall ice palace rising out of the water, its arches all jagged and crisp. Above it, the night sky is lit by a swirling aurora that twists like ribbons, and hanging from one of those light ribbons is a single snowflake lantern that seems to glow with its own icy fire. Along the shore, you can spot broken shards of a snow globe, each piece catching a tiny reflection of the palace and the dancing lights.

Tips for Coloring

Try using cool blues and purples for the aurora, then add a pop of bright teal or white for the lantern’s glow. The lake works great with light gray or a gentle gradient of blues to show that reflective surface. For the palace arches, mix different shades of icy blue and maybe sprinkle a hint of silver to get that frosty sparkle. And don’t forget the glass shards – a little dash of pastel pink or mint can make them stand out without stealing the focus.
